800x600 Pallets: "half pallet"
The 800x600 mm pallet (or 600x800 mm pallet) is the third size pallet in the category of standard pallets at European level and it is called "half pallet" in the field because it is half the size of the 1200x800 mm pallet and has about half the load capacity of the 1200x800 standard pallet.
It is mainly used to store or (seldom) ship light-weight small-size goods.
Also, the pallet is very often used to display goods in stores.
This pallet usually has 5 boards on top, but it can often be ordered with 4 boards on top. The top deck can have 800 mm or 600 mm long boards. (in the latter case, at least 5 boards are recommended). Even if it is a 4-way entry pallet (EURO pallet style), a 600/800 pallet can usually be handled only on one side (the 800 mm side).
As for the blocks (feet), 800/600 pallets can have 9 blocks (on 3 rows, as the other standard pallets or EURO pallets) or 6 blocks (on 2 rows) or even 4 blocks (also on 2 rows). For 6 or 4 blocks, the merchandise must be very light and for 9 blocks, the merchandise can be heavier. There are cases where 6 or 4 blocks are preferred for handling reasons. If a 6 or 4 block pallet is preferred, but still the merchandise is heavy, then the boards will be cut thicker to ensure the strength of this pallet.
As with the other pallet types we manufacture, the 800*600 pallets can be heat treated (phytosanitary) and/or dried if the client requires.
We make 600*800 pallets both from beech and softwood. We usually go for beech only when the pallet needs to withstand heavier loads.
