Disposable pallets: “one-way pallets”

Much of our production capacity is assigned to disposable pallets (or “one-way” pallets).

In most cases, clients ask for these pallets to be cheap even if they have a poorer quality, given that they are meant for a single use and then they are scrapped. These pallets are mainly designed for light goods, up to 500 kg.

As general dimensions, we make disposable pallets both in standard size (1200×800, 1200×1000, 600×800 mm) and in custom sizes (from 600 mm wide or long minimum up to 6000 mm wide or long maximum).

In terms of board width / thickness, disposable pallets usually have 50 to 80 mm wide boards and from 13 to 15 mm thick boards. For example, if made from hardwood (such as beech, oak, hornbeam), the boards will be 50-70 mm wide and 13 mm thick. If made from softwood (such as fir, pine, spruce, poplar, linden etc.), the boards will be 70-80 mm wide and 13-15 mm thick. Even if used only once, these pallets, starting from wood type and quality, are calibrated just like other pallets or EURO pallets: depending on the goods, use, handling, storage, transport.

As regards the quality of wood and components in disposable pallets, given they must be cheap in the first place, we usually manufacture them from the sides of logs and from slabs or from cheap logs, such as poplar, for example; for the quality of pallet components (blocks and boards), these pallets allow for chamfered components, larger knots or rot as long as the pallet remains stable and withstands the weight of the merchandise and the intended use.
